In November, the Ballencrieff House CEO was asked by the Financial Times to address delegates at the annual Retail Banking Strategy Conference, and was also invited to speak at an Islamic Finance Event organised by London's Imperial College.

October 2008

In October, Ballencrieff House was responsible for managing Muxlim's presence at the Gobal Peace and Unity Event. We created a unique focal point for Muxlim visitors to meet their online friends at the  specially-constructed "Muxlim Meeting Place". The Ballencrieff House CEO was invited to speak at an Ethical Finance Conference organised by  IIBI and Dow Jones.

September 2008

During September, we ran a campaign to promote the launch of Throughcare Housing and Support - a charity established to assist victims of forced marriage and domestic violence. Our campaign generated coverage through numerous media, including the BBC, Albanian Mail, India Spere, Birmingham Mail, Manchester News, Sutton Observer, Walsall Advertiser (1, 2), Great Barr Observer, Pride News, BVSC, 24 Housing, iNews, Pickled Politics, MuslimNet, Popular Sikh, Spaghetti Gazetti and Women's Grid. In addition, the launch event was covered by Central News and BBC Radio WM's Breakfast Show.

We also ran a campaign to promote the work of internationally celebrated artist and photographer Peter Sanders
and his seminal work In the Shade of the Tree. Our media campaign increased global awareness of our client's work thanks to coverage by Middle-Eastern media: Al-Bawaba, Meri News, Middle East magazine, Yemen Times, The National (UAE), Business Intelligence, Islam Online, Edge of Arabia; European media: Ummah magazine, DEEN, Ethnic Now, Got Poetry, High Beam, AIM, World News, Dharma Cafe; Asian media: The Nation (Pakistan), The Daily Times (Pakistan), Borneo Bulletin, The Pakistan Daily, Asian News; and North American  media: Imaging Insider, Qalam. Peter was also interviewed by BBC Radio for The Book CafĂ© programme, and Eid magazine dedicated a large feature to his book.

In addition, we also contributed to an article by the Telegraph about the UK's fast-growing Islamic Insurance industry.

August 2008

In August 2008, we were tasked by alburaq (a subsidiary of Arab Banking Corporation) to promote their new Islamic Savings Plan. Following our campaign, the client's innovative new product received coverage in Manchester Evening News, Scotland's Chronicle, Investment Week, Finance Markets, IFN, City Wire, What Investment, Bond Investment, The Asian Banker, Banking Business Review, Finance Industry Today, Money Haven, Money magazine, Save Borrow Spend, IFA Online, MENA Financial News, Sukuk Net, Mortgage Information, Mortgage Info Post, emel magazine, Islam Online, Simply Halal, Ethnic Now, World News Network, Europe News, EU Politics Today, Red Tram, Trading Charts, High Beam as well as publications from Pakistan (Pride News), Bangladesh (Bangla Post), Arab states (Dubai Chronicle, The Middle East, Albawaba, Zawya) and Thailand.

Also in August, we ran a campaign to promote the Lord Mayor and City of Birmingham, and generated worldwide interest in the Lord Mayor's upcoming official state visits to Bangladesh and Pakistan. The story received international TV coverage, and was also referenced by The Scotsman, Dash 24, Teletext, Asian Image, Sunrise Radio, British Asian News, Modern Ghana, Bangla News, Weekly Blitz (Bangladesh), Earth Times, Scotland on Sunday, Spaghetti Gazetti, Clickwalla, Grantham Journal, Sleaford Standard, Pride News, Ethnic Now, Kismat, Daylife, iNews, EIN, Buzz Tracker, Red Tram, Silo Breaker, Sphere, Wikio, ChillX and Schema.

We also ran a campaign to promote the work of British author Dr. Max Malik, whose work was subject to a controversial censorship attempt. Ballencrieff House was responsible for creating a website to promote his book, The Butterfly Hunter, and running a co-ordinated international media campaign.    

In addition, the Ballencrieff House CEO appeared twice on BBC Radio to discuss the merits of Ethical Finance options. Firstly, BBC London asked for comment on Islamic banking and the Credit Crunch. This was followed by an invitation to contribute to BBC Radio 4's Beyond Belief strand to discuss Money and Ethics in the City of London.We also contributed to an article about UAE banks' Turkish expansion for Ekonomi magazine.

April to June 2008

At the end of March, Ballencrieff House was asked to take over Marketing and Media Relations for the Muslim Writers Awards 2008, and we secured publicity for the initiative with BBC News, The Guardian, The Times, Birmingham Mail, Birmingham Post, Islam Today, EuropeNews, Bradford Telegraph, iNews, Pride News, EIN, Eastern Voice, Keep the Faith (Christian), Solihull Times, Nawa-i-Jang, Daily Ausaf, Scotland's Chronicle, Spaghetti Gazetti, Free Writers, Muslim Green Pages, Muslim Birmingham, Emerald Network, Awam News, Birmingham Words, High Beam, Odd News, Euro Islam, Dr. Desi, Daarul Ishaat, Cage Prisoners and Free Detainess. In addition we secured radio coverage through the BBC's Asian Network, Radio Lancs and several shows on BBC Radio WM (Midlands Masala, Nikki Bedi show and Sunday Breakfast). The Muslim Writers Awards 2008 also received coverage across the world, including India, Dubai, Qatar, Jordan, Iran, Denmark, Ukraine and the USA (NY & CA) The event was broadcast to a TV audience of millions via the UK-based Islam Channel.

In April, we ran a media campaign for the world's leading Muslim social media website Muxlim.com, which doubled the user-base to 2 million worldwide. Our media campaign generated interest from BBC Radio (Cambridge, Warwickshire and Bristol), Birmingham Post, Islam in EuropeEthnic Now, The Inquirer,

Also in April, the Ballencrieff House CEO was invited to speak at an Islamic Finance conference in Madrid, Spain. We were asked to produce an article for Islamic Finance News magazine entitled "Halal Finance in the UK" and we contributed to the April issue of New Horizon magazine for a piece entitled "Shari'ah and Banking: compatible or unsuitable?". In addition, we were profiled by International Accountant magazine, and featured in Spanish magazine La Clave. We were also asked to write an article about London's Islamic banking industry for Turkish magazine Ekonomi.

In May, the Ballencrieff House CEO was asked to Chair the annual Retail Banking Networks conference in London. In July an invitation was extended to address the World Islamic Banking Conference European Summit in London.

January to March 2008

The start of the year was a busy period for our team. We were proud to be profiled by Spanish (Catalan) magazine El Temps, and the Ballencrieff House CEO was celebrated as one of the architects of Islamic Finance in Europe. Closer to home, we were interviewed by the Telegraph newspaper for a Shariah Finance article, and Investment Week magazine also approached us for an article explaining the merits of Islamic Investments. Ballencrieff House was also commissioned to produce an article for Dentistry magazine entitled "How green is your money?"

At the start of March, the Ballencrieff House CEO was interviewed by the Malaysian Reserve newspaper, and we contributed to a Student Finance piece by American Public Radio

Following publication of the Annual Budget 2008 by the UK's Chancellor of the Exchequer, we were consulted by numerous UK media channels for our response, including CNN, Financial Times, Real Business, Asian Today, Pride News, EuropeNews, Asian Image, Islamic Finance News, Introducer Today, Investors Chronicle, EU Bankers, UK Time, Brick Lane, IFS, Ethnic Now, Desi Express, Awam News, GAAPweb, ClickwallaF&CI, Lancs News, Edge, The Money Pages, Ummah Pulse, Zimbio, Only Finance, M-Consulting, MEED, Lessors, Sunrise Radio and Colourful Radio as well as publications from Dubai, Georgia and Austria.

Finally, Ballencrieff House consultants assisted a British insurance provider with the creation of a Training plan for their new ethical product range.


October to December 2007

In October, Ballencrieff House was also invited to assist The University of Frankfurt with the planning and content of their Islamic Finance conference. In November, the Ballencrieff House CEO, Junaid Abbas Bhatti, was profiled on the Pride of Pakistan website, in recognition of his community service and achievements in the field of Islamic Finance.


July to September 2007

In July, Ballencrieff House consultants were asked to conduct (qualitative) Focus Group research for an Islamic financial institution in the UK. A couple of months later, our  consultants conducted quantitative customer research for a well-known British bank. We were also commissioned to produce an article for The Suburb magazine outlining Islamic Finance in the UK.
